Our mixologist has created a collection of indulgent seasonal serves for you to try at home this festive season.
Let the entertaining begin…
1. Hot Buttered Honey Spiced Rum
Richer than a hot toddy, this buttered rum recipe is a sweet and spicy sip that’ll warm you up after a wintry walk.
To make one: Add 1 tbsp of salted butter, 1 tsp of mild honey, a pinch of cinnamon powder, 100ml of hot water and 50ml of KEEPR’s Honey Infused Spiced Rum to a small pan. Heat gently until unified and pour into a preheated latte glass. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.
2. Gin & Jam
Tangy and sweet, this Honey Gin recipe is similar to a Clover Club but without the addition of egg. Served before brunch, it’ll enliven the taste buds and elevate the flavours of the dishes.
To make one: Add 2 tsp of plum jam, 20ml of fresh lemon juice, 20ml of sweet Vermouth and 50ml of KEEPR’s British Honey Infused London Dry Gin to a shaker. Stir/muddle to break down the jam into the liquid. Add ice and shake. Fine strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with lemon zest.
3. Cherry Chocolate Bourbon Old Fashioned
A delectably sweet twist on a classic Old Fashioned thanks to the addition of cherry and chocolate. Made for evenings around the fire.
To make one: Add 15ml of Amarena Cherry Syrup, 2 dashes of Chocolate Bitters and 60ml of KEEPR’s Smoked Honey Infused Bourbon into a mixing glass. Stir and strain into a chilled rocks glass over an ice block. Garnish with Amarena cherries.
4. Christmas Spiced Vodka Hot Toddy
All the flavours of the festive season in a glass – nutmeg, cinnamon, star anise and dried fruits. A warming upgrade on a mulled wine and an easy way to spread some Christmas cheer when guests pop in unannounced.
To make one: In a cocktail glass dissolve 1 tsp of mild honey in 50ml of hot water, add 1 dash of Angostura Bitters and 50ml of Two Birds Christmas Spices and English Vodka. Garnish with orange zest studded with cloves.
5. Sloe Gin Negroni
When our finest hedgerow spirit meets an iconic Italian cocktail, you’re rewarded with a beautifully balanced festive version of a classic Negroni.
To make one: Add 15ml of Amarena Cherry Syrup, 25ml of sweet Vermouth, 25ml of Campari and 25ml of Two Birds Sloe Gin into a shaker filled with ice. Shake and fine strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with Amarena cherries.
6. Cherry Champagne Cocktail
A sparkling sweet and sour serve that’ll make your festive parties pop.
To make one: Add 10ml of Orgeat Syrup, 20ml of fresh lemon juice and 25ml of Two Birds Cherry & Almond Vodka to a shaker. Shake and fine strain into a chilled flute glass. Top with Champagne. Garnish with lemon zest.
7. Chocolate Negroni
It’s true to say that we all probably eat more desserts at Christmastime, but if you prefer to end your meal with an alcoholic sip, then this chocolate version of a Negroni is one smooth serve that’ll leave you satisfied.
To make one: Add 3 dashes of orange bitters, 20ml of Crème de Cacao (brown), 35ml of sweet Vermouth and 35ml of Dodd’s Gin to a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with orange zest.
8. Citrus & Maraschino Gin Cocktail
Taking elements of prohibition era cocktails, the Aviation and the Dorchester, this Citrus & Maraschino Gin Cocktail is guaranteed to impress your guests.
To make one: Add 10ml of Orgeat Syrup, 15ml of Maraschino Liqueur, 30ml of fresh pink grapefruit and 50ml of Dodd’s Citrus & Spice Gin to a shaker with ice. Shake and fine strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with pink grapefruit zest.
